At Tech Dentistry, our compassionate team of sedation dentists, hygienists and specialists understands that many patients may feel anxiety before their dental visit. For that reason, our Atlanta practice offers many forms of sedation dentistry, including oral sedation, nitrous oxide and intravenous conscious sedation. Each of our sedation dentistry techniques is safe, effective and will be administered by our expertly-trained in-house anesthesiologist.

Our sedation dentists are committed to providing you with a relaxing and comforting environment at our comprehensive dental practice – that’s why we’ve stocked each of our treatment rooms with fluffy pillows, soft blankets and even personal HD TVs on the ceiling, allowing you to view your favorite programs while you are in our care.

Sedation Dentistry Options at our Atlanta Practice

Below, we’ve compiled an informative list of the sedation dentistry techniques available at our Atlanta location, which our experienced sedation dentists can safely and effectively administer in-house. Though we do not offer any forms of “sleep dentistry,” each of our techniques will help you to relax both before and during your procedure, and some may require that you receive a ride home from a friend or loved one after your appointment.

Nitrous Oxide:

Often referred to as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is a non-addictive blend of gases, administered to patients using no more than a simple mask over the nose. As you breathe in the nitrous oxide, you will begin to feel a sense of relaxation, and your pain threshold will be greatly increased. These effects will make time seem to go by quickly and make your overall procedure much more comfortable.

Conscious Oral Sedation:

Some individuals may feel their anxiety is too great for nitrous oxide, but not strong enough to require IV sedation dentistry. For these patients, we offer conscious oral sedation, which involves taking an individually-prescribed sedative before arriving at our practice. By the time you sit in the dentist chair, you will feel a tremendous state of calm.

IV Conscious Sedation:

For an even deeper state of relaxation, our sedation dentists may suggest intravenous conscious sedation. Though it does provide stronger sedation than other techniques, it is not “sleep dentistry;” rather, you will still have the ability to interact with our team. Despite being awake, you will be very much relaxed – most patients who have undergone a procedure while on IV sedation tell us they can barely even remember their treatment.
